What is sports massage?

Sports massage is a deep tissue massage, which focuses on problem areas to relieve trigger points and tension within the muscles. It varies from other types of massage by being much more specific and working deeper into the muscles to pinpoint and relieve the problem (yes, this means it may be uncomfortable at times!).

How will I benefit?

Whether you are a recreational or professional athlete, injured or healthy, sports massage can benefit you. Some of the numerous benefits are:

  1. Breaks down scar tissue and adhesions
  2. Reduces pain from muscle spasm
  3. Aids recovery from injury, training and competition
  4. Improves muscle function helping to prevent injury.

How often should I have one?

Regular exercisers/competitors can all benefit from a frequent massage to maintain your muscles in the best condition possible, which will of course contribute to injury free training. Investing in ongoing sports massages allows you to recover quickly, move more efficiently and perform to your true potential.
